When Mural Republic approached Nevill Group Ltd to deliver a bespoke advertising wall at Borough Yards, London, we were tasked with developing a clever, practical solution that would meet the demands of a busy public environment without leaving a trace once each marketing campaign came to an end.
With a tight turnaround and a very specific brief, we got to work.
The Challenge: A Sturdy Advertising Wall Without a Permanent Footprint
Working alongside our good friends at Mural Republic, the brief was to design and install a fast-erecting, easily dismantled advertising wall that could accommodate their incredible hand-painted mural work.
Situated at Borough Yards, London, the installation needed to be solid, sturdy and capable of withstanding the demands of a busy pedestrian environment and passing foot traffic.
However, there was one important consideration: the installation had to leave absolutely no trace when dismantled between advertising campaigns.
Traditional fixing methods were out of the question. We needed a solution that offered structural stability during use but allowed the entire installation to be removed quickly, cleanly and without damaging the existing surroundings.
The Solution: Bespoke Engineering Meets Practical Design
Our solution started with something already on site: an existing planter.
Rather than introducing additional permanent foundations or intrusive ground fixings, we cleverly utilised the planter as the base weight for the structure. This provided a practical foundation while allowing us to keep the installation completely reversible.
Every measurement mattered. We designed and fabricated the supporting structure to be millimetre-perfect, ensuring it aligned seamlessly with the existing planter.
To achieve the required balance between strength and removability, we incorporated specialist twist-fix bolt locks. These allowed the advertising wall to be securely positioned during each campaign and quickly released when it was time for dismantling.
The result? A robust, secure and completely removable advertising structure with no unnecessary permanent alterations to the site.
Pre-Built Stage Flats and Premium Dibond Panels
With the structural approach established, we developed a modular build using pre-built timber stage flats and Dibond panels.
This approach offered several advantages:
Rapid installation: Pre-built sections significantly reduced on-site assembly time.
Efficient dismantling: The modular construction allowed the wall to be taken apart quickly between campaigns.
Clean, professional finish: Dibond panels provided an ideal smooth surface for the final creative application.
Reusable construction: A practical solution designed with future advertising campaigns and repeated installations in mind.
The materials and construction method were carefully selected to provide the perfect canvas for Mural Republic to work their magic with their signature hand-painted murals.
